Located in the heart of Lanseria and close to the Cradle of Humankind, Tanner Estates (www.tannerestates.co.za)  has been a supplier of fresh produce to local markets and major retailers for over 40 years.  Starting in the 70’s on rented land in Fairlands, the founder, Dennis Peters, persevered and was relentless in the pursuit for producing vegetables of the highest quality.  All the blood, sweat and tears paid off when in the early 80’s, he had to expand his operations to the farm in Lanseria to meet the demand for his produce.  He always attended to matters personally and endless hours in the land set the example and high standards for all that worked the farm.  While he produced a wide variety of beautiful vegetables, he was always known as the Lettuce King.  The continuous quest for expanding their knowledge base and intimate understanding of farming practices means that Tanner Estates produce is farmed using sustainable, conventional and organic farming techniques.

We welcome back Paul Maciel and his team (www.thesecretjozichef.co.za) as our guest chef.  Paul started well known Jozi restaurant Pronto in 2004 when after 12 years, he sold Pronto and decided to follow his passion for writing and teaching about food.  His blog satisfies the writing urge whilst his school, The Cookery, a multipurpose kitchen space in Craighall Park, provides the platform for his teaching.  The venue hosts fun social classes for guests as well as interactive chef’s table dinners & events.
